New ABRSM Piano Syllabus (2011-2012) released tomorrow!

The latest piano syllabus materials will be available for dispatch from 8th July. These pieces can be used in ABRSM piano exams from January 2011 and promise to offer candidates (and their teachers) an exciting new range of repertoire.

As with last year it is also possible to purchase either the Book or CD separately or the two together from £9.95.

From January 2011, some changes will be made to the Aural Tests which will make life slightly easier for candidates as the “Spot the Difference” exercise in the Grade 1 Aurals will be simplified! ABRSM now publish sample tests along with an accompanying CD enabling students to be able to practise their aural tests in between lessons and also making life easier for their teachers.

Charity Piano Recital – King’s School, Chester

The next Charity Piano Recital will be taking place on Saturday 26th June, 2010 starting at 11am in the Recital Hall in the new music department at King’s School, Chester. We will again be supporting a piano bursary for a student at Kampala Music School with a donation of £3 per person. There will be a presentation of certificates and the piano points trophy.

Studio admin system issue

A few parents have reported issues with logging into my new on-line lesson booking system. The problem lies with the default Internet Explorer settings you are using. The best thing to do is to use a different browser, I recommend Google Chrome. (Click accept and install after clicking on the link and it will automatically install.) You will find this much smoother, faster and easier to use than Internet Explorer and it accepts session cookies by default.

Alternatively, you need to change the “Privacy Settings” in your internet options so that session cookies are allowed. Go to “Internet Options” in your control panel, click on the Privacy tab and reduce from Medium to Low then click OK.

You should now find that you can log in to the system correctly at http://whay.me/plc
