Biography
Background
Born in Kendal in the beautiful English Lake District; I trained as a chorister in the local parish church choir and played in the Westmorland Youth Orchestra and other local youth ensembles when I took up the trombone at the age of 11.
I
studied singing, trombone and piano at the
University of Manchester graduating in 2001 to become a lay clerk at
Peterborough Cathedral.
After two years I left Peterborough to do teacher training at the
University of Durham.
While resident in Durham, I sang with the University Chamber Choir, built and maintained their website and sang with the Cathedral Consort of Singers who sing evensong in the cathedral three to four times every term.
Current activities
Bass Lay Clerk with Chester Cathedral Choir singing eight services a week at the cathedral as well as occasional concerts and recordings,
Conductor of Neston Ecumenical Choir performing three concerts a year and a number of evensongs at local churches on the Wirral,
Oratorio soloist including a recent performance in Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Kendal Choral Society,
Primary Curriculum Music Teacher at St Clare's Catholic Primary School
Event Pianist for weddings, piano accompanist and piano tutor at St. Oswald's Primary, Mollington, Chester Catholic High School and St. Werburgh's and St. Columba's Catholic Primary School in association with Music for Life.
