Biography

Born in Kendal in the beautiful English Lake District; I trained as a chorister in the local parish church choir and played in the Westmorland Youth Orchestra and other local youth ensembles when I took up the trombone at the age of 11.

After studying singing, trombone and piano at the University of Manchester and graduating in 2001, I became a lay clerk at Peterborough Cathedral. After two years I left Peterborough to do teacher training at the University of Durham.

While resident in Durham, I sang with the University Chamber Choir, built and maintained their website and sang with the Cathedral Consort of Singers who sing evensong in the cathedral three to four times every term.

Since moving to Chester, I currently undertake a number of roles including:

Musical Director of Caldy Valley Voices performing concerts throughout the year in the Chester Area,

Event Pianist for weddings, piano accompanist and piano tutor at St. Oswald’s Primary, Mollington, Saighton School, Huntington Primary School, and St. Werburgh’s and St. Columba’s Catholic Primary School in association with Music for Life.

When not playing, singing, conducting or teaching I like to spend time doing photography. I am available to shoot weddings and events.
