Conducting has been an important part of my musical life, alongside performing, accompanying and teaching. Although it is no longer a main area of my professional work, my experience directing choirs, orchestras and other ensembles has had a lasting influence on the way I teach, rehearse and make music.
Since moving to Chester in 2004, I have worked with local community choirs as both accompanist and conductor, supporting singers of all ages and abilities.

With Neston Singers, I directed a wide range of repertoire, from larger-scale classical works to contemporary and a cappella choral arrangements.
“Will was musical director of Neston Singers and was very successful at motivating the choir and had great musical expertise for the position he held.”

Closer to home, Caldy Valley Voices formed in 2013 and grew both in size and confidence after I took over as Musical Director in summer 2014. The choir collaborated with other ensembles in the Chester area and brought people together through a shared love of singing. Sadly, the choir disbanded in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
