    Lesson timetables for piano lessons in school this half term are available to download. If you haven’t already registered on my on-line lesson diary system then please do so ASAP. Click on the picture of your school to view lesson times.

    New ABRSM Piano Syllabus (2011-2012) released tomorrow!

    The latest piano syllabus materials will be available for dispatch from 8th July. These pieces can be used in ABRSM piano exams from January 2011 and promise to offer candidates (and their teachers) an exciting new range of repertoire.

    As with last year it is also possible to purchase either the Book or CD separately or the two together from £9.95.

    From January 2011, some changes will be made to the Aural Tests which will make life slightly easier for candidates as the “Spot the Difference” exercise in the Grade 1 Aurals will be simplified! ABRSM now publish sample tests along with an accompanying CD enabling students to be able to practise their aural tests in between lessons and also making life easier for their teachers.

  • Piano Concert raises £150 for Betina’s Lessons

    The piano concert last Saturday raised £150 for the Kampala Music School Bursary fund. A record number of students attended and were performing, 27 in total. Everybody gave it there best shot and though most people were very nervous, they played well. After the presentation of the piano points cup (which arrived just in time thanks to Mrs Hay) piano points and exam certificates were awarded. Half way through the programme we heard our sponsored student from Kampala Music School, Betina play her violin. I have posted videos of three performances from the concert below. If you would like a high-quality video clip of your child’s performance then please send a memory stick in with them to their next lesson.

  • Next piano concert – Saturday 5th December 11am

    Visit event on FacebookThe overall consensus for the concert date seems to be Saturday 5th December at 11am so I have booked the church at All Saint’s, Hoole. More details will be published in my newsletter before half term…

  • Piano Teaching Schedule – Autumn 2009

    The new term is underway and piano lessons will resume the normal schedule from Sunday 6th September 2009-17th December 2009. This means that lessons in schools will be starting from 7th September.
    Half term dates: 24th-31st October 2009
